Second gen F-Body LS swap fitment notes

Frame mounts and the crossmember bolt into holes already in the frame.
The crossmember brackets face a different way on early and late subframes. The guide shows both.
A 4L60E, 4L80E, TH350, TH400 or 700R4 fits the stock tunnel. A T-56, TR6060, 6L80E or 6L90E needs some tunnel work.
The guide names the GM 1998-2002 F-Body pan as the best choice: over an inch of room at the back of the K-member and the most room at the inner tie rods at full lock.
High-mount A/C and alternator or power steering brackets are recommended.
All headers clear the factory A/C box, power steering box and power brakes.
Headers are built for a floor shifter. Column shift linkage has to be modified.
The factory clutch Z-bar does not work with these kits, and the driveshaft length will change.

Which transmissions does the Sure-Fit crossmember work with?

The guide lists every transmission BRP has tested: 4L60E, 4L65E, 4L70E, 4L80E, 6L80E, 6L90E, Powerglide, TH200, TH350, TH400, 700R4, Muncie 4-speed, TKO 600, T-56 and TR-6060.

How are the mid-length and long tube headers different?

The mid-length headers use a ball and socket collector. The long tubes use a slip-on collector. Both are 1-7/8 inch and ceramic coated.

Which fuel tank fits my car?

Tanks are split by year: 1970-1973 Camaro and Firebird, 1974-1977 Camaro and 1974-1978 Firebird, and 1978-1981 Camaro and 1979-1981 Firebird.

Does a Firebird use the Camaro radiator?

No. Firebird and Trans Am have their own radiators on this page, in automatic or manual versions, with or without dual fans.
