1973 - 1987 2WD GM Truck LS Gauge Components

Gauge parts for a square body C10 or C15 with an LS: an oil pressure adapter fitting that takes a traditional pressure gauge sensor, and a tach adapter so a stock or aftermarket traditional tachometer can follow an engine without a distributor.

  • Fits a traditional oil pressure sensor
  • Works with factory or aftermarket tachs
  • Same parts BRP lists for every chassis

Conversion kit, headers, tanks and radiators for these trucks are on the 1973-1987 2WD GM Truck LS page. Every chassis is listed under LS swap gauge components.

What each truck gauge part does

  • Oil Pressure Adapter Fitting: lets the LS accept a traditional pressure gauge sensor, so a conventional oil pressure gauge can stay in the dash.
  • Tach Adapter: converts a distributorless ignition signal for a traditional tachometer or a shift light.

1973-1987 truck gauge notes

  • The tach adapter on this page ships without the BRP LS harness and is meant for custom wiring.
  • Both parts are general LS swap parts. BRP does not list a gauge part made only for 1973-1987 trucks.
  • The truck install guide covers the mount kit and crossmember placement, not gauge wiring.

Part details come from the BRP product listings. Truck swap background is in the 1973-1987 2WD GM Truck LS install guide.

1973-1987 2WD GM truck LS gauge FAQ

Can I keep a conventional oil pressure gauge in my LS swapped C10?

Yes. Install the Oil Pressure Adapter Fitting and the LS can run a traditional pressure gauge sensor.

Will the original style tach in my square body read an LS?

The Tach Adapter is built for that job. It takes the distributorless ignition signal and drives a traditional factory or aftermarket tachometer, or a shift light.

Does the truck tach adapter include wiring?

No. It is sold here without the BRP LS harness, so plan your own wiring to the tach.

Are these gauge parts made only for 1973-1987 trucks?

No. They are general LS parts. This page collects them for 1973-1987 2WD Chevy and GMC truck swaps.
