1971-1977 Vega exhaust notes

  • No Vega header is listed on this page or on the Vega LS parts page.
  • The parent page does carry cast iron LS exhaust manifolds whose application list names the 1971-1980 Vega and Monza.
  • Those manifolds come as a pair with weld-on flanges, gaskets and hardware, so your pipe joins at the flange.
  • BRP has not posted a Vega install guide, so pipe routing and clearance are left to your build.

Notes from BRP product listings. No 1971-1977 Vega install guide is posted.

1971-1977 Vega LS exhaust FAQ

What exhaust manifold works for an LS Vega?

BRP lists cast iron LS exhaust manifolds for the 1971-1980 Vega and Monza on the Vega parts page. No Vega header is listed.

Which band clamp fits my Vega pipe?

Match the pipe diameter. There is a stainless band clamp for 2-1/2 inch and one for 3 inch tubing.

Can I add an O2 sensor without welding a bung?

The 3 inch O2 sensor band clamp has a port for the sensor, so it suits a 3 inch section of your Vega exhaust.

Is there a Vega LS install guide?

Not yet. BRP install guides cover other chassis, so plan the Vega exhaust path on the car.
