70-81 F-Body LS Trans Mount Adapters

Mount adapters for 1970-1981 Camaro, Firebird and Trans Am LS swaps with a late model GM transmission. They let a T-56, TR-6060, MG9, 6L90E, 8L90E or 10L90E tailshaft sit on a traditional mount and the BRP Sure-Fit crossmember.

Pick by transmission

Standard TR-6060 or CTS-V T-56: the powder-coated 3/16 steel adapter, hardware in the box.
MG9 high-torque TR-6060 from behind the LSA: the dedicated MG9 bracket.
6L90E out of a 2009-2014 CTS-V: the 6L90E tailshaft adapter.
8L90E or 10L90E: one shared adapter, built to work with BRP crossmembers.

1970-1981 F-Body transmission notes

BRP says its Sure-Fit crossmember fits every transmission tested, including the T-56, TR-6060, 6L80E and 6L90E.
The T-56, TR6060, 6L80e and 6L90e all need some trans tunnel modification in these cars.
The 4L60e, 4L80e, TH350, TH400 and 700R4 go in with no tunnel changes.
Trans mount spacer count depends on the transmission, and the gold preload plate sits right on top of the mount.

Does a TR-6060 need tunnel work in a 1970-1981 Camaro?

Yes. The 1970-1981 F-Body guide lists the TR6060, T-56, 6L80e and 6L90e as needing some tunnel modification.

Will the Sure-Fit crossmember take a 6L90E in my Trans Am?

The guide lists the 6L90E among the transmissions the Sure-Fit crossmember has been tested with.

Has BRP tested the 8L90E or MG9 in a 1970-1981 F-Body?

The guide does not list either one. The 8L90E adapter is made for BRP crossmembers, but F-Body tunnel fit is not published.

Does the crossmember need new holes drilled?

No. Per the guide, the frame mounts and crossmember bolt into existing holes in the frame.
