1988-1998 2WD truck notes

  • The guide says LS truck exhaust manifolds fit this chassis, and that the Muscle Rods headers bolt in with the BRP kit.
  • Any low mount A/C compressor hits the frame here, so a high mount A/C kit is required.
  • The kit is meant for the BRP LH8 pan; an LS truck pan hangs about 1 inch below the frame.
  • Large case 6L80E and 6L90E transmissions fit the OBS tunnel without cutting, per the guide.

Do BRP headers bolt in on a 1988-1998 2WD OBS truck?

The guide states the Muscle Rods headers are designed to bolt in with this kit. Long tube and mid-length versions are listed for these trucks.

Why does my OBS LS swap need a high mount A/C bracket?

The guide says low mount A/C compressors of any kind will not clear the frame on this chassis.

Which clamps go with the cone reducers on an OBS truck exhaust?

Use a 3 inch band clamp on the large end of each reducer and a 2-1/2 inch band clamp on the small end.
