1964 - 1972 2wd GM Truck LS Transmission Mount Adapters

Transmission mount adapters for 1964-1972 2WD C-10 and C-15 LS swaps. They give a six-speed manual or a 6L90E, 8L90E or 10L90E automatic a conventional mount pad, and the truck guide says most late model gearboxes fit the factory tunnel unmodified.

  • Factory truck tunnel fits most late gearboxes
  • Covers TR-6060, MG9, T-56 and late autos
  • Crossmember position set by your transmission

Crossmember bracket drilling is shown in the 1963-1972 2WD GM truck LS install guide. Mounts, radiators and tanks are on the 1964-1972 2WD GM truck LS swap page.

Adapter by gearbox

  • CTS-V T-56 or a regular Camaro TR-6060: a laser cut, jig welded steel bracket in black powder coat.
  • MG9 high-torque TR-6060 from the CTS-V: a separate adapter with its own hardware.
  • 2009-2014 CTS-V 6L90E: an adapter for that automatic tailshaft housing.
  • The 8L90E and 10L90E share one adapter meant for BRP crossmembers.

1963-1972 truck transmission notes

  • The guide names the 4L60E, 4L80E, 6L80E, 6L90E, 8L90E and six-speed manuals as fitting the stock tunnel.
  • Where the outer crossmember brackets go, fore and aft, depends on the transmission you choose.
  • Set the brackets 2.5 inches from their bottom edge to the bottom of the frame lip, then drill 3/8 inch holes.
  • The kit supplies one crossmember, two side brackets and a polyurethane trans mount.

1964-1972 C10 LS transmission mount FAQ

Will an 8L90E fit the floor of a 1964-1972 C10?

The 1963-1972 truck guide lists the 8L90E among late gearboxes that fit the factory tunnel without floor changes.

Which adapter suits a six-speed manual in my C10?

A CTS-V T-56 or standard TR-6060 uses the steel T-56 / TR-6060 adapter. An MG9 needs the MG9 adapter.

Do I drill the frame for the truck crossmember?

Yes. The guide has you place the outer brackets for your transmission and drill new 3/8 inch holes.

Is the 10L90E covered for 1964-1972 trucks?

The 8L90E adapter also fits the 10L90E tailshaft, but the truck guide does not mention the 10L90E.
