This 3rd gen Camaro LS conversion kit mounts an LS engine and transmission in a 1982-1992 Chevy Camaro or Pontiac Firebird. Order the Muscle Rods LSX3 kit for an LS paired with a T-56 or a 4L60E to 4L70E.
What's in the kit

It is designed around a factory V8 K-member. The frame mounts and transmission crossmember bolt into the factory mounting holes with no drilling. With a V6 K-member, you position the engine, then mark and drill the bolt holes in the K-member. The kit is designed around factory suspension and steering parts.
Transmission options
Choose T-56 or 4L60E to 4L70E. The crossmember is different for each transmission, so order the option that matches yours. Driveshaft length will change from the original.
Does my transmission need tunnel work?
No transmission tunnel modifications are required. With a T-56, a casting boss on the tailshaft needs grinding for clearance with the crossmember.
Which oil pan works?
The kit and Muscle Rods headers are designed for the GM 1998-2002 F-Body oil pan.
Headers, A/C and accessories
- Muscle Rods headers clear the factory A/C box, power steering box and power brakes.
- The headers work with the T-56, 4L60E and 4L65E.
- The mid-length header has a ball and socket collector. Long tubes have a slip on collector.
- Some header installs need the starter, valve covers or spark plugs removed.
