GM late model engine swap kits for cars and trucks
Here we have our front accessories mocked up in the F-body medium accessory depth while doing some detail work on the frame and inner fenders.
With our engine mounts installed you can see the additional space provided for headers over the original bulky clamshell design. It's firmly mounted in the proper place for all other components of the swap.
Since our engine is a bone stock 2000 LS1 our 1 3/4" mid-length headers fit the bill perfectly. Our spark plug wires with 45° boot are ideal for use with any of our headers.
Here you can see our high mount AC unit with hoses installed, as well as the all-important steam hose running over the upper radiator hose. Our short upper and lower radiator hoses worked great going to the same side of our new LS radiator.
Other than our headers and an after market air cleaner this could pass for a factory install. That's a 98 F-body throttle cable and Corvette style power steering reservoir on the driver side fender. We've got a few hundred miles on our newly swapped engine and 4L60E transmission. This is exactly what this car needed. Plenty of smooth power on hand and great gas mileage.
We've added some 17" x 8" N90 wheels from Year One with some Nitto 255/45/17 tires all the way around.
Now its off to the body shop for some paint work. When finished it will be a great weekend cruiser getting plenty of attention at the many shows we attend.
